We’d love to take the credit for this, but really it’s the animals that make our birthday parties so good. When we tell them that it’s your birthday they are extra specially nice to you and all your friends. Our parties are just £18 per child!*

Meet all the baby animals, maybe an alpaca or a donkey, hold some chicks, cuddle a baby rabbit or play with a guinea pig or two.
Come and ride on one of our fabulous donkeys with all of your friends.
A delicious cold buffet including sandwiches, fruit, yogurts, cakes and crisps.
This is a part of the party for adults and children alike. All aboard for a bumpy ride.
Accompanying adults are free at a ratio of 1 adult to every 5 children. This price includes a donkey ride for each child as well as a tractor and trailer ride. Any adults above this ratio are charged at £10.00 each. Groups must be booked in advance.
Here at Smithills Open Farm, we love to have school visits. Since we opened in spring 2000 we have had lots of schools, nurseries and other organised groups visit us with large groups of children in tow.
Children of all ages, too. Some come from miles away, just to say hello, feed and cuddle our lovely animals. As members of Farms for Schools, we encourage schools to link with the curriculum. In particular foundation stage KS1 and KS2. We are more than happy to help you get the best out of your visit. When booking, please talk to us about your requirements.
Kids are welcome to bring their own packed lunch. We have clean areas both inside and outside where they can eat. We also have a cafe that sells hot and cold food, ice creams, snacks and drinks. There’s also a small shop where you can get a souvenir of your visit.
We not only take bookings during the day for schools or nurseries but we can also take evening bookings for Brownies, Cubs, etc.
For a minimum of 15 children.
We can organise a trip for the time of their normal group meeting and can stay open until 8pm.
Same activities as on the group booking info sheet attached previously.
However please note depending on the age of the children donkey rides may not be available.
